B.A. History and History of Art with a Year in Computer Science Full-time

2025/26 Session
All students must take 40 credits of independent study in either Art History or History selected from the modules below. Students taking 60 credits in Art History and History must take one of the following dissertation modules. Students taking 80 credits in Art History or History cannot take the JH Link Dissertation.
Students taking 40c in HoA and 80c in History HoA: Students choose 1 Special Subject in Sem 1 and 1 Special Subject in Sem 2 History: Students choose 2 co-requisite Special Subject Modules to the value of 40c (20 in each semester) plus the 40c History Dissertation. OR HoA: Students choose 1 Special Subject in Sem 1 and 1 Special Subject in Sem 2 History: Students choose 1 option in Sem 1 and ONE in Sem 2 plus the History Dissertation.
Students taking 60c in HoA and 60c in History HoA: Students choose ONE Special Subject in Sem 1 plus the HoA Dissertation. History: Students choose 2 co-requisite Special Subject Modules to the value of 40c (20 in each semester) plus an option in Sem 2 from History List B. OR HoA: Students choose 1 Special Subject in Sem 2 plus the HoA Long Dissertation. History: Students choose 2 co-requisite Special Subject Modules to the value of 40c (20 in each semester) plus an option in Semr 1 from History List A. OR HoA: Students choose 1 Special Subject in Sem 1 and 1 in Sem 2. You also take the Linked Dissertation (of which only 20 credits are assigned to HoA). History: Students choose 2 co-requisite Special Subject Modules to the value of 40 credits (20 in each semester). You also take the Linked Dissertation (of which only 20c are assigned to History. Art History: Students may also apply to undertake a Professional Skills module at level H. If successful this will be taken in place of one of their semester 1 taught modules in Art History. The placement can be taken either during the summer vacation (part-time or full-time) or during semester 1 (part-time only). The placement must be completed prior to the Christmas vacation. Students who undertook a Professional Skills module at level I will not be able to undertake a Professional Skills module at level H.
Subject to the approval of the programme lead students may also include in their history total up to 40 credits of optional modules offered by departments other than history. Students may only take one dissertation module and their credit total must include at least one non- dissertation module.
