Aims of the Programme To develop students' academic and professional skills in a golfing context through the delivery of theoretical and practical modules.

To provide students with the opportunity to develop their key skills (communication, ICT, working with others and problem solving) in theoretical and practical contexts in both class/lecture rooms and placement environments; technology & custom fitting; coaching & sports science; and club administration.

To provide students with an interdisciplinary approach to the worldwide golf industry - its functions; administration; management; development and planning in all facets of the industry (e.g. event management; equipment).
Programme Outcomes
Students are expected to have Knowledge and Understanding of: Which will be gained through the following Teaching and Learning methods: and assessed using the following methods:
1) The theoretical knowledge and understanding of Sports Science as it relates to golf.
2) The theoretical knowledge and understanding of Business as it relates to golf.
3) The theoretical knowledge and understanding of equipment and technology as it relates to golf.
4) The theoretical and practical aspects of supporting golf learning.
5) The inter-relationships of the above disciplines in the understanding of golf as a sport and as a leisure pursuit at all levels of participation

1) The ability to engage critically with discussions with in and across a range of academic disciplines that inform the content of the degree.
2) Communication; presentation; group and interactive skills with the ability to self appraise and manage their own learning
3) Critically assess information, develop a reasoned argument, and challenge assumptions through theoretical and empirical material.
4) The ability to research and evaluate facts, theories, paradigms, principles and concepts as they relate to the study of golf.
5) Plan, design and execute and a sustained piece of independent research using appropriate methods.
6) Reflect upon learnt experience (through placement opportunities) the vocational skills commensurate with employment in a golf setting.
