Description
Students consolidate and build upon the linguistic skills that they have acquired at A Level.The module is designed to develop receptive and productive skills within a range of specific registers of Spanish, particularly those areas pertaining to politics, economics and commerce. Students are required to develop their accuracy in the written language, their comprehension skills and their fluency in the spoken language.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module the student should be able to;
Write fluently and accurately in Spanish on a variety of topics;
Use a variety of complex grammatical structures with confidence;
Read and comprehend authentic texts on various topics;
Talk about the topics studied with a fair degree of grammatical accuracy and fluency;
Speak in Spanish at advanced level, showing good knowledge of structures and awareness of differences between spoken and written language;
Understand and comment on Spanish spoken at natural speed;
Use vocabulary pertaining to areas of politics, international relations, business, society, tourism, culture;
Perform a range of written, oral and aural tasks, including essay writing, oral presentation and discussion of a broad spectrum of topics;
Translate accurately texts both into and from Spanish.
