Exclusions
Description This module builds on the knowledge acquired in previous core modules. It will teach students to critically analyse Japanese and engage in discussion on a variety of topics related to current issues in Japan. This module also aims to enhance students’ ability to express themselves in Japanese through the preparation of an essay to be delivered at the end of the module.   
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Show an understanding of selected semi/authentic materials related to various topics about the current issues in Japan.
  • Demonstrate an ability to express opinions on the topics related to Japanese culture and society.
  • Deal with complex issues relating to the grammar of the target language (morphology / syntax).
  • Show a firm understanding of Japanese culture and society.
  • Develop an understanding of and competence in formal and informal registers.
