Exclusions
Description Students will undertake a coach education programme integrating theory and practice in golf coaching. This involves an introduction to the impact factors and the fundamental science of golf ball flight. They will also study principles that affect impact and the consequent ball flight, paying particular attention to elements within the static pre-swing position. In addition students will cover aspects related to coaching putting and chipping. They will look at lesson structure and reflect on the skills and attributes of coaches and the different roles they may play.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module the student should be able to:
  • Analyse the factors which create the different ball flights in golf
  • Identify and explain the various principles within the golf swing
  • Detail the key factors when analysing the golf swing at set up to golfers of all ages
  • Explain how to teach basic putting and chipping methods to golfers of all ages
