Year: 3
2022/23 Session
Students must choose two Special Subject modules (one per semester) to the value of 40 credits from a range of options that will vary from year to year depending on staff availability. The two choices must be co-requisite modules.
Choose 40-60 credits (depending on whether the student does the Dissertation or an Extended Essay) from the Department’s provision of optional modules & ancient languages. The list of modules will be provided by the Department and differs year by year. Students must do either the Dissertation or an Extended essay. They may choose the semester they wish to do the extended essay & must choose either an optional module in the other semester or an Advanced/ intermediate Language that runs across the year.
Students may choose to do 1 or 2 intermediate or advanced languages.
Students may also apply to undertake a Professional Skills module at level H. If successful this will be taken in place of one of their semester 1 taught modules. The placement can be taken either during the summer vacation (part-time or full-time) or during semester 1 (part-time only). The placement must be completed prior to the Christmas vacation.
Students who undertook a Professional Skills module at level I will not be able to undertake a Professional Skills module at level H.
