B.A. Mathematics and Music Full-time
Year: 3
2023/24 Session
Students may apply to undertake either an optional year abroad or an optional year in Computer Science between level I and H. Year Abroad: Students must attain a minimum overall average mark of 60 in order to be considered for study abroad. An optional year abroad at a university with which the University of Birmingham maintains an established relationship. Modules to be chosen from an approved list relevant to the Music programme. Modules will be selected in conjunction with the academic member of staff responsible for the programme, to ensure that they are at an appropriate level, that they do not duplicate our own provision, and that they contribute to the programme. If there is any duplication of our programme, the student will be ineligible to sit those modules on return to Birmingham. If the year abroad is passed the student's degree title will have 'with Year Abroad' added. With effect from the 2020-21 cohort, Year 2 will be weighted at 25% and final year at 75%. The Year Abroad will be assessed on a pass/fail basis only and it will not contribute to the final degree classification. The Year Abroad does not apply to students who enter via an articulation agreement. Year in Computer Science
