M.Eng. Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering with Industrial Year Full-time
Year: 3
2025/26 Session
Students must pass all modules. If a student fails to meet these conditions they cannot be awarded an accredited degree at the end of their programme, under the Engineering Council’s policy on Compensation and Condonement. They will therefore need to be transferred to an unaccredited programme.
Students must have passed at least 100 credits in the relevant year of study by the start of the academic year in which the placement is being taken in order to sit the Year in Industry module (students are only able to defer or fail a maximum of 20 credits in the academic year prior to their placement).
Students taking an Industrial Year in year three should take the following module:
Programme specific regulation: Due to the requirements of IET accreditation for MEng programmes, students who fail any "core" modules in year 4 will normally be transferred to an unaccredited MSci Mechatronics and Robotics with Industrial Year. In this instance "core modules" refers to modules whose learning outcomes are included in the UK SPEC.
Decisions as to whether a student has met the requirements of the IET accredited programme will be made on a case by case basis.
