Aims of the Programme

The Certificate in HE - Reflective Management Practice aims to provide knowledge and information relating to all the core functional areas of management and supervisory practice - those of management of self and personal skills, provision of direction, change facilitation work with people, use of resources and the achievement of results.

It aims to offer an evaluative approach to knowledge for management skills in the workplace, particularly within multi-disciplinary settings related to Social Care, Health, and Community Justice.

The programme, through its modular structure and content, aims to offer discussion and understanding of the crucial subject areas impacting on management - those of diversity, organisational development and change, creating and maintaining partnerships, supervision and performance management, reflective practice in management, and coaching and mentoring for management practice.

The programme also aims to enable candidates to bring a reflective perspective to their management practice, and to equip them with the skills and knowledge to deliver evidence-based management practice, so contributing to best outcomes in provision for service users.
