Description This module applies the principles and concepts delivered in pre-requisite modules (LC Inorganic Chemistry I, LI Inorganic Chemistry IIa and LI Inorganic Chemistry IIb) to a number of topical areas in inorganic chemistry. The topics covered in this module include: transition metal chemistry and homogeneous catalysis.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the (advanced) principles and concepts associated with the material delivered in each area;
  • Apply their acquired knowledge to rationalise observations and to solve relevant unseen problems;
  • Appreciate the breadth of inorganic chemistry, through exposure to a number of topical subject areas.
