The University’s Regulations permit students registered to Joint degrees to vary their credit weighting in their second and final year. A minimum of 40 credits and a maximum of 80 credits must be taken in each discipline in both years (subject to a total number of 120 credits in each year). Students who undertake less than 160 credits in one of their disciplines will graduate with a major/minor degree.
Students should choose one of the following combinations of credits and modules
40 credits in English Language, 80 credits in English Literature: • Compulsory English Language modules only (Stylistics; The Structure of English) • Two semester 1 English Literature options • Two semester 2 English Literature options
60 credits in English Language, 60 credits in English Literature Either • Compulsory English Language modules (Stylistics; The Structure of English) • One semester 1 English Language option • One semester 1 English Literature option • Two semester 2 English Literature options
