Exclusions
Description	This module aims at students who have already attained a high level of proficiency and extends receptive and productive skills to a highly sophisticated level encompassing several registers. Strategies and study methods will be further developed to increase independent learning. Teaching is through practical language classes involving whole group and small-group/pair-work and one-to-one activities, aiming at developing all language skills, with particular emphasis on oral communication. Conversations, discussions and debates on topical (current) issues will be a constant feature. One hour weekly will be dedicated to practice in translation, note-taking and summary skills. A wide range of audio-visual resources are used routinely.
Learning Outcomes	By the end of the module students should be able to: achieve level at least B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) perform a variety of unpredictable oral and written tasks in the target language deal with complex issues relating to the grammar of the target language (morphology / syntax) deliver an oral presentation in the target language on a complex topic and debate related issues develop skills in accurate and effective summary and translation. develop an understanding of and competence in informal registers identify and articulate in speaking some knowledge of key cultural aspects of the country where the language is spoken demonstrate understanding of a discussion between two native speakers of the target language
