Description Students will follow modules in the host University. The number of modules will be established in consultation with the School of Physics & Astronomy and the subjects will be agreed by the School.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module the student should be able to:
  • Have developed their Physics/Mathematics skills and their foreign language skills by studying approved Physics and Mathematics modules in a foreign language at a host University in the country of their choice;
  • Demonstrate their Physics/Mathematics skills in Physics and Mathematics modules taught and examined in a foreign language at the host University as part of a study programme approved by the School of Physics & Astronomy;
  • Write effectively in a foreign language in both technical and non-technical contexts;
  • Converse effectively in a foreign language in both technical and non-technical contexts.
Assessment 18082-01 : Study Abroad B : Coursework (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessed jointly with 03 18081:Assessment as agreed by the School of Physics & Astronomy and the host University.The University has established, in consultation with other British Universities, a sound method of converting marks and/or grades awarded by the European/International University to comparable marks within the British system. The degree classification for the BSc programme is calculated from marks obtained in the final three years of study in the ratio 2:1:5.
