Exclusions
Description It is important for medical students to graduate with some skills in teaching as it forms a significant component of their future clinical careers. In this module students will be introduced to some core ideas in teaching and learning and will then plan and deliver a teaching session to their peers.

Students will also be expected to reflect in writing on their own teaching and the teaching of others.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Plan and teach a small group lesson using good practice in all aspects;
  • Reflect on and critically evaluate your own and others’ teaching sessions.
Assessment 19266-01 : Teaching and Learning Project : Coursework (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessments:

Students will be assessed on their ability to plan and deliver a lesson, and on their ability to reflect constructively in writing on their teaching and must pass the module overall. Students will submit their teaching plan and critically reflective essay and deliver their teaching activity with individual deadlines agreed at the start of the module with their tutor.

Students will be assessed on their preparation for and delivery of the teaching activity and the critically reflective essay according to an agreed mark scheme.

Reflective Report 50%

Reassessment: Students will be required to complete all elements as in the first attempt.
