Description This module will draw out from the historical background of social work those relevant ideas and practices which inform current social work practice. It will explore the organisational context of social work linking to organisation theories to help the students understand the frameworks in which current social work is practised.

The range of social care services will be examined to show where social work with its specific values and ethics can build relationships with citizens who need health and social care services to ensure that access and delivery are made as clear and effective as possible.

The changing role of social workers in a constantly changing health and social care world will be explored to assist students in becoming more reflective and versatile professionals.
