Description
This module provides the student with advanced skills enhancement through production. Production in this instance means that a student will rehearse, develop, and perform allocated roles within the auspices of a fully supported and designed theatre production. Learning is undertaken in a collaboratively-driven rehearsal environment, with guidance and teaching provided by a specialist director in an intensive series of rehearsal workshop sessions occurring over 4 -5 weeks. These culminate in production week rehearsals intended to replicate the integration of technical and design elements with acting elements. Finally, students perform in formal DTA productions with public audiences in attendance.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students will:
work with and understand particular advanced learnt skills originating from a particular area of theatre/performance practice;
to apply and understand such skills to specific and relevant practice, beyond as well as within the confines of specific assessment tasks within the module
participate in group and individual practice using the framework of new skills learnt on the module;
demonstrate skills applicable to a public performance setting
