Regular individual tuition (10 hours) on either an instrument or voice with approved tutors at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire or employed by the University of Birmingham. Occasional seminars/workshops on stagecraft and programming.
An accompanist is available for two hours in total, including rehearsal and recital time.
This module cannot be taken with 23480 LH Special Subject Solo Performance.
Attainment of 52% or more in the first study assessment of LI Solo Performance is recommended for admission to this module.
This module may be taken only by instrumentalists or vocalists (it is not open to accompanists or conductors).
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module the student should be able to:
demonstrate in public performance (as an instrumentalist or vocalist), musical skills (both technical and interpretative) to a standard comparable or superior to the Associated Board’s Licentiate (LRSM).
Develop the ability to choose an interesting programme that includes contrast and demonstrates a range of performance styles.
Demonstrate in public performance a professional approach to stage craft, deportment and time management
