Exclusions
Description This module will enable students to demonstrate dissemination skills now commonly used within the discipline via poster and oral presentation, as recently recommended by the BMedSc School Quality Review process.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module the student should be able to:
  • Devise a research question
  • Locate archives and research collections relevant to a clearly defined research project
  • Identify and develop a research idea into a clearly defined research project
  • Write up a clear and concise research proposal
  • Present a research proposal, identifying the key research questions, situate the topic in a clearly defined context as defined by secondary sources and identify a wide variety of relevant archives and resources to support the research
  • Design and arrange a poster which effectively conveys the research topic to a diverse audience
  • Distinguish, assess and justify a successful poster from an unsuccessful one
Assessment 22970-01 : module mark : Mixed (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment is 1 x oral presentation of research proposal (50% weighting) and 1 x poster presentation (50% weighting)

Reassessment: This module belongs to a programme that is considered to be equivalent to the final year of a three-year degree programme in regards to assessment. No opportunity for resubmission is available.
