This module involves identifying a research question, and then planning and implementing a course of work to answer the question. This will involve both primary and secondary research.
The research question might typically be a critical analysis of an aspect of project management on an actual project or address an aspect of how an organisation manages projects. It might also address a broader opportunity to improve project performance, new insight into the causes of problems with project performance, or the critical analysis of a proposed intervention aimed at improving project performance.
Students receive structured guidance through the key steps in developing a research idea and working through the project on Canvas. Tutor support is available and is left to the student to arrange and manage.
The purpose of this module is for the students to demonstrate independent learning skills, originality of ideas and the ability to advance knowledge in their professional field in a manner that would make that knowledge available to other professionals.
