Description

The module adopts a model-based approach to sport Pedagogy. Drawing from theories of learning, students will be encouraged to critically consider a range of  pedagogical models (e.g. TGFU, Sport Education, Personal and Social Responsibility) and how these might be applied. A model- based approach offers a framework from which to consider pedagogical approaches that  develop individual competency and promote physical activity and health behaviours.

Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Identify and apply appropriate and effective pedagogy in the context of sport instruction
  • Understand and explain ways in which different models of practice can be applied to a range sport and health-related contexts
  • Critically analyse how theories of learning underpin professional practice
  • Critique and analyse the factors which impact on sport innovation in the context of professional practice

23862-04 : Write a 1500 words Rationale : Coursework (70%)
