Description Preparation of the professionalism portfolio will enable students to demonstrate their understanding of, practice of and commitment to the GDC principles of professionalism.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the component students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate the principles of team working and team co-operation
  • Demonstrate self-evaluation , reflective practice, personal development planning, portfolio development and continuous improvement activities
  • Demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning and maintaining professional knowledge and competence
  • Demonstrate knowledge and practice of giving and receiving feedback
  • Communicate effectively by written means
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of the principles of information governance
  • Respect the patients’ perspective and take account of issues relating to equality and diversity
  • Demonstrate knowledge and application of the GDC standards, ethical guidance and the principles of raising concerns

Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:
Completion and submission of a satisfactory professionalism portfolio prior To entry into Integrated Clinical Practice finals examinations in third year.

Assessment:
Resubmission of satisfactory professionalism portfolio prior to entry into clinical finals examinations in year 3
