Exclusions
Description	This is one of two 60-credit modules providing the formal framework for academic assessments of students while on their compulsory placement year (year 3 of the MSci … with Professional Placement courses). Students will work in Industry, Medical Research, Conversation or another area relevant to their undergraduate studies for a minimum period of 30 weeks. They will (i) perform a project during their placement; (ii) prepare a project report; (iii) prepare a reflective report discussing the relationship between their academic discipline and how it is practised in the work place and on their personal and professional development and (iv) present their research to staff and students
Learning Outcomes	By the end of the module students should be able to: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the project carried out while on work placement both in writing and orally Show an understanding of the relationship between the academic subject and how it is practised in the work place Demonstrate enhanced skills in data representation and interpretation Communicate effectively in an appropriate and professional manner. Make effective use of statistics where appropriate to their data analysis Reflect on their development and discuss how their scientific discipline is applied outside the University of Birmingham
