Description Language course, Middle Egyptian Hieroglyphs.Students will build on the knowledge gained in Introduction to ancient Egyptian A to develop their knowledge of Middle Egyptian through the study of extended passages in inscriptions or manuscript form.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Transliterate and translate longer passages (10 to 15 lines) of seen Middle Egyptian texts from all genres (including historical and religious texts).
  • Demonstrate a good command of Middle Egyptian grammar and a working vocabulary.
  • Transliterate and translate short passages of texts previously unseen.
  • Demonstrate their knowledge through examination
