Exclusions
Description This module explores how to work collaboratively with carers as part of delivering a social work service to vulnerable adult service users - including a focus on legislative and policy context, social work skills and underpinning values.
Learning Outcomes By the end of this module the student should be able to:
  • Demonstrate understanding of a range of theoretical ideas underpinning work with carers;
  • Demonstrate skills in engaging with and supporting carers;
  • Demonstrate application of understanding of the policy and legislation directly relevant to work with carers in the context of social work with adults;
  • Demonstrate application of the principles of Anti-Discriminatory Practice within interventions with carers.
Assessment 27339-01 : Essay : Coursework (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions 3000 word case study (100% of mark);
Report on direct observation of the candidate's practice and satisfactory feedback from a carer (pass / fail).
