This module will develop students’ ability to integrate their anatomical understanding across the body systems in order that they can develop a more holistic approach to patient care. Fundamental to all safe practice is a thorough grounding in clinically relevant regional anatomy: this includes radiological anatomy and the principles behind safe interventional techniques.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to: Doctor as a scholar and scientist
Demonstrate an ability to understand and use scientific and medical terminology appropriate to the anatomical regions being studied in year 1
Identify anatomical features on medical images of specimens
Describe the normal functional anatomy of structures within the body regions and discuss the impact of gross / common pathologies and trauma upon normal function.
Discuss how a basic knowledge of clinical anatomy informs safe clinical practice
