Assessment 28517-01 : Semester Abroad Mark : Coursework (100%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Students need to take 30 ECTS (or equivalent) per semester. The semester abroad will be assessed and Students will receive a numerical mark, this mark will contribute to their degree classification. Further information on assessing the semester abroad can be found in the Code of Practice on Taught Programme and Module Assessment and Feedback.

Assessment: The student is expected to undertake assessment in accordance with normal practice at the host institution. Students are assessed as per the specified requirements for the modules they choose to take at the host institution.

Reassessment: It will normally only be necessary for a student to retake modules failed as part of the semester abroad if this results in the overall average for the 60 credit Semester Abroad Module falling below 40. The Departmental International / Year Abroad Officer would discuss with the International Office what resit opportunities would need to be provided by the Department (not the host institution) on a case-by-case basis, and depending on credit weighting of the modules taken at the host institution.

Failure of the Theology and Religion semester abroad module after reassessment will lead to failure of the programme and a requirement to withdraw from the University unless extenuating circumstances apply. Students may apply to re-enter on the non-study abroad variant of their programme, but must be prepared to bear to costs of repeating their second year of study. Theology and Religion is not obliged to re-accept students who have not shown due diligence during the Theology and Religion study abroad module.
