Description
Modern technology may allow today’s PGA Professional to consider more in-depth analysis and applications of the information gathered when carrying out a custom fit; for example when making shaft recommendations to better players. This module focuses on different shaft and grip materials, designs, constructions and their influences on playability. An evaluation of the impact on a player using advanced techniques will also be covered. Through developing an understanding of modern analysis equipment, the data it produces and its relevance and accuracy, students will critically evaluate, compare and contrast different systems. Together, all of this will enable a PGA Professional to become competent to carry out any type of custom fit on any player and be able to make relevant and sound recommendations.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Apply advanced custom fitting techniques to a variety of players
Compare different components of golf clubs and balls and evaluate their influences, performance and relationship to meet the needs of particular players
Analyse data for different components of a golf clubs and balls to inform when making custom fitting recommendations to players of different abilities
Demonstrate the ability to carry out a range of customisation work
Assessments: *1 x 1 hour Custom Fitting Practical assessment (50%) 1 x 2 hour Theory Examination (50%)
