The module offers a comprehensive coverage of key areas of cognitive psychology, with a focus on perception, attention, memory and language. Students will learn the fundamental theories in cognitive psychology. In addition, the module follows a straight research-led teaching approach and will thus include knowledge about the latest advancements in the field.

Understand issues on perception, attention, memory and language, including the main theories in these areas.
Demonstrate skills in experimental design and analysis for cognitive psychology.
Understand the basic use of neuroscientific approaches in cognitive psychology.
Be capable of interpreting empirical evidence in relation to psychological theories, and assess it critically.
