Description
This module will focus upon the process of acquiring skills. Students will integrate theory and practice in considering how to prepare scores as a conductor with careful consideration of successful rehearsal practices and how these relate to and impact on performance outcomes. Students will foster reflective/evaluative skills, which are considered key in becoming an accomplished and responsive conductor.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
demonstrate a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the preparation needed by a conductor in advance of rehearsals and concert.
Critically reflect upon and evaluate conducting practices in fostering their own skills.
Critically evaluate the context of the music conducted, and how this might affect the manner of performance..
