Exclusions
Description This module will focus upon the process of acquiring skills. Students will integrate theory and practice in considering how to prepare scores as a conductor with careful consideration of successful rehearsal practices and how these relate to and impact on performance outcomes. Students will foster reflective/evaluative skills, which are considered key in becoming an accomplished and responsive conductor.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • demonstrate a detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the preparation needed by a conductor in advance of rehearsals and concert.
  • Critically reflect upon and evaluate conducting practices in fostering their own skills.
  • Critically evaluate the context of the music conducted, and how this might affect the manner of performance..
