Description The module offers a comprehensive coverage of key areas of cognitive psychology, with a focus on perception, attention, memory and language. Students will learn the fundamental theories in cognitive psychology. In addition, the module follows a straight research-led teaching approach and will thus include knowledge about the latest advancements in the field.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module, students should be able to:
  • Understand issues on perception, attention, memory and language, including the main theories in these areas.
  • Demonstrate skills in experimental design and analysis for cognitive psychology.
  • Understand the basic use of neuroscientific approaches in cognitive psychology.
  • Be capable of interpreting empirical evidence in relation to psychological theories, and assess it critically.
