33181-06 : Mandatory Training : Coursework (0%)
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Formative Assessment:

OSCE: students will undertake tutor reviewed formative OCSE before the summative OSCE
The students will be trained and prepared for this assessment in the clinical skills laboratory using the format of the assessment and will have the opportunity to undertake a peer reviewed as well as a formative assessment.
Support to create a development plan based on practice based reflection activities On the Practice Assessment DocumentSummative Assessment:

(60%) OSCE: Including patient assessment, communication and safe administration of medication using PEN members.
(40%) Practice Assessment Document (LO: All) Students undertake a written component of reflection based on an episode of care within the PAD, which will be based on a reflective model, in addition to the OCSE.
Formative feedback will be provided on each of the episodes of care on the PAD document. This feedback will allow students to develop their skills in reflection and will prepare the students to move to next level.

(0%) Internal hurdle: completion and submission of mandatory training evidence by specified submission date prior to first placement.

Reassessment:

Placement: a further placement period will be organised for reassessment of practice.

OSCE failure: A second attempt of OSCE

Failure to complete any aspect of Mandatory training prior to placement will result in the placement being postponed and rebooked on the next available date. This may result in the student being required to take a leave of absence. Reassessment will be submission of the necessary certification and will result in the module mark being capped.
