This module, and its co-requisite People and Places A, introduces students to group projects and group assessment. Working on a supervised topic relating to a particular place or person they will present their findings collectively at the end of the module. People and Places has two strands, the local (pertaining to the Birmingham/West Midlands area) and the global (pertaining to the world beyond Europe). Students would be required to cover both strands over the course of the two co-requisite modules.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate and Understand and explain the main features of a defined historical topic;
Work as an effective team-member of a group examining a specific historical topic;
Present effectively a range of primary and secondary sources using audio- media in the context of a group presentation.
