Description Confident and proficient English skills are vital to ensure progression and this module provides academic English development in a number of key areas at B2 level of the CEFR framework, namely the ability to use English effectively and concisely to communicate orally and in writing. Using small group teaching, students will practise techniques for improving their academic listening skills; they will develop their ability to read relevant technical articles supplied by the department and using these articles they will increase their speaking and writing skills through small group discussion and the practice of academic writing techniques to summarise these articles. Students will be required to attend sessions in the second term and will be asked to complete a reflective log based on these sessions.
