Description Key themes and issues in developmental psychology will be discussed, including continuous and discontinuous development, stability and change and the nature/nurture debate. It also considers how research and theories of these issues are applied to children's development and education.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Explain the history of developmental psychology and its relevance to education
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of major themes and issues within developmental psychology, and their relevance to education
  • Show an understanding of how different influences interact in development.
