This module focuses on individual differences, and how individual differences can influence learning in a range of settings.
It will examine conceptual, historical and ethical issues in the field of Individual Differences.
It will examine a range of individual differences e.g. personality, intelligence, emotion, motivation and, cognitive style and consider how these individual differences may influence learning and achievement.
Issues relating to the history and current state of construct measurement in the field of Individual Differences will be discussed.

By the end of the module students should be able to:
Identify a number of individual differences, and explain how these can influence learning and achievement in a range of settings
Understand how individual differences are measured by psychologists and the issues they encounter when doing so
Draw on relevant theory to identify ways that individual differences in learning and achievement can be accommodated or adapted in educational settings
Describe conceptual, historical and ethical issues in the field of Individual Differences
