This module covers social psychology and the influence of social psychological processes on learning and achievement.
Ethical, conceptual and historical issues within Social Psychology will be examined.
Students will be introduced to a range of key topics within Social Psychology, including social cognition, attribution, attitudes, group processes and intergroup relations, culture, social constructivism, self and identiy and leadership. Knowledge of these topics will be applied to learning to see how social psychological processes can impact on learning and achievement in a range of settings.
Changes in social psychological processes across cultures and ages (e.g. changes associated with puberty, the impact of culture on self identify) will also be examined.

By the end of the module students should be able to:
Identify key ethical, conceptual and historical issues within Social Psychology.
Identify and describe key social psychological processes, and explain how these may relate to learning and achievement in a range of settings.
Describe how culture or age/developmental stage can impact on social psychological processes.
