Students will attend weekly classes in the language laboratories and a fortnightly class in the Interpreting Suite to develop their interpreting skills (note-taking, listening, transferring meaning from English into French and vice versa, as well as background knowledge of the topics studied and relevant vocabulary. In Semester 1, a particular focus will be placed on acquiring note-taking and listening skills. The language of delivery will be a combination of English and French.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate understanding of aural stimuli on the topics studied;
Transfer meaning from English into French and vice-versa building on and developing the key language skills fostered in the French core/compulsory modules in Years 1 and 2;
Take-notes effectively to allow them to interpret longer blocks of speech.
