The Dance 2C module comprises of four disciplines: ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap. The aim of the module is to provide students with the necessary technical and artistic skills as appropriate for an actor-singer in musical theatre.
Students will build upon their skills by developing an increased knowledge of the dance vocabulary, along with a more refined application of the necessary stylistic and musical requirements. The focus of the module is on developing the use of dance for an actor-singer where a more nuanced sense of characterisation is required. The emphasis will be placed on equipping students with the skills of finding the motivation behind the movement.

By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate secure technical ability in the core dance disciplines;
Demonstrate the ability to execute material in a variety of styles related to the musical theatre genre;
Demonstrate an intermediate musical awareness and understanding of motivation behind movement.
