Description
Although the process for custom fitting a player is essentially the same the PGA Professional must be able to understand the variables that apply when fitting a player for other clubs such as drivers and putters. More recently with the introduction of new materials into the construction process it is important that the PGA Professional has knowledge of materials, construction processes and how they can influence performance and a club’s playability. This module focuses on clubhead and ball design, their influence on performance and the requirements of the golfing authorities relating to design and construction.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module, students should be able to:
Operate an efficient customisation workshop, identify additional opportunities
Provide a custom fitting and customisation facility that incorporates the various clubs suitable for this service.
Analyse various designs and constructions of the ball and clubhead; their influence on performance, playability, the requirements of the golfing authorities relating to design and construction
Demonstrate the ability to carry out a range of customisation and club building skills
