This module examines the contemporary history of Spain from 1975 to the present day. Through interaction with a wide variety of interdisciplinary sources (historical documents, visual media, literary texts), students will learn about the consolidation of democracy, Spain´s development into a prosperous economic power, the subsequent recession and the growth of protest movements. It examines how Spain developed into a fully industrialised, consumer society, and attempted to become an international player in supranational organisations. This module builds on the knowledge gained in the first semester of this module.
