This module examines different approaches to analysing security dynamics and issues in the post-Cold War world. It encourages students to reflect on the analytical and ethical assumptions that shape security thinking and practice in contemporary global politics. It does so by focusing on key security institutions and actors, by discussing theories which have been used to make sense of global security, and by examining prominent security issues of our time.
