Description
This module introduces students to a variety of different research techniques across a broad spectrum of disciplines. The aim is not to be specific preparation for your own specific academic discipline and/or dissertation but instead a broader training to support future interdisciplinary work. It is delivered by a series of guest lecturers talking about a method that they use. These sessions are supported by seminars which will critique existing interdisciplinary research, discuss the methods in more detail, and consider benefits, challenges, and skills involved in conducting team science effectively.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate a comprehensive and critical understanding of a range of research techniques
Effectively communicate a critical analysis of a specific research technique to non-specialist academic audience
