Description Students attend a host university overseas for one academic year. They will follow modules as agreed with their home school/department, which should build on their existing knowledge from the first two years. The modules to be studied will be equivalent in credit terms to a full year of study at Birmingham, but subjects will be varied according to availability and student preference; the opportunity to study subjects not available at Birmingham will be encouraged.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the subjects studied.
  • Understand the different approaches applied to the subjects in an academic institution outside the UK.
  • Demonstrate an ability to work and produced assessed work independently.
Assessment
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:
As required by the host institution. The student will obtain their marks for these modules via a transcript provided by UoB. However, in terms of the BA degree, although a pass mark in all modules needs to be achieved, the actual marks will not be taken into account in the final degree classification.

Reassessment:
7000 word project, or a lesser length appropriate to the proportion failed, assessed by UoB
