Description The benefits of custom fitting are promoted by major golf equipment brands and the skills associated with custom fitting and club building are sought after within the golf industry.

It is important that students understand the interaction between a player and their equipment and the impact that golf equipment can have on performance. Over the course of the module students’ will learn how to conduct a custom fitting and adjust golf equipment to suit a player’s individual tendencies and preferences within a given environment.

Students will also learn the skills associated with building golf equipment. These skills allow custom fitters greater control over tolerances that can be an issue in mass produced products. They also allow students to offer a wider range of custom fitted products and services helping them to stand out in a competitive market.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate an understanding the elements that make up the custom fitting process
  • Analyse golf shot, ball and club performance in a given environment
  • Carry out a range of custom fitting, customisation and club building skills
  • Understand the various Health & Safety considerations within a custom fitting and customisation workshop
