Description This module will introduce students to conceptions of law and ethics in Christian and Muslim thought and practice. It will consider these conceptions through attention to everyday practices and scholarly discourse. This specialist module allows for students to develop and apply learning in years one and two, towards building knowledge of emerging models in comparative and multi-disciplinary approaches to theology and ethics.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Critically assess traditions in law and ethics and their relation to Christian and Muslim thought and practice
  • Engage in comparative analysis of moral and philosophical traditions
  • Apply theory to case studies
  • Synthesize learning and contextualise approaches to moral reflection across traditions

    Reassessment: Resit failed component if it results in failure of the module as a whole.
