Exclusions
Description This proposed module will be a seminar series regarding issues at the cutting edge of psychology of religion research. The module will consist of lectures on recent research relevant to the field of psychology of religion, building up students’ knowledge of current trends in the field. Paired with these lectures will be a seminar-format reading group in which students will work through case studies of recent research, examining these significant new research contributions to the field.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the module students should be able to:
  • Demonstrate critical understanding of the emerging issues in research in psychology and religion
  • Improve and refine work based on feedback and discussion.
  • Assess and evaluate topical research in psychology of religion, including the strengths and weaknesses of arguments/research design
Assessment
Assessment Methods & Exceptions Assessment:
3,000 word essay OR 3,000 word psychological research proposal (including introduction, hypothesis, proposed method, and predicted outcomes/conclusions) on a set topic (60%)

1,000 word seminar handout (40%)

Reassessment:
Resit failed component if it results in failure of the module as a whole
