Exclusions
Description	The module comprises three elements; (1) field-based skills exercises, (2) seminars and taught content on science practice and communication (3) seminar attendance and development of a reflective portfolio of seminar notes. The field course will include problem-solving activities and development of independent research skills, leading to an exercise that aims to demonstrate a student's familiarity with particular skills and the ability to communicate those findings effectively. The second component is designed to develop students' abilities to develop and communicate scientific ideas and results effectively, to a range of target audiences and through different modes of delivery. Finally, students are expected to attend seminars within the school during the year and reflect on their content and delivery through a portfolio of notes and observations.
Learning Outcomes	By the end of the module students should be able to: Critically interpret and clearly communicate field-based observations to provide insights into underlying questions (the specific themes may vary between ES, PG, HG and EVS). Synthesise different sources or types of information (field observations, research results, or literature-based) to provide clear communication of information. Effectively communicate scientific information ideas and results to target audiences and in relevant format. Reflect on the effectiveness of other speakers in order to improve one's own communication skills.
