Description	This is a module that blends both the theory and practice module of leadership. The key content is focussed on introducing students to key leadership theories and important research findings over the past 150 years. Indicative content includes critical and historical perspectives on leadership and leadership studies, great man, trait and behavioural approaches, transformational leaderships, systems leadership and emotional intelligence, different leadership: diversity, race, culture and gender, political leadership and politics of change and narrative leadership and reflective practice. This provides a basis for helping you ask critical questions around the recognised theories of leadership, the leadership you see around you and the leadership you offer. Practice based learning activities provide opportunity to apply your developing understanding of leadership to practice-based case studies and real-life situations with a view to further develop your own leadership skills.
Learning Outcomes	By the end of the module students should be able to: Understand and critically evaluate key theoretical frameworks of leadership Critically analyse the role of leadership within organisations Apply a range of leadership theories and techniques to improve outcomes to develop your own leadership skills and manage change and lead teams to deliver organisational goals
