The module will cover the basics of modern electrochemistry of relevance to fuel cell study: -Thermodynamics -Electrochemical Kinetics -Mass transport in electrochemical and fuel cell systems -Experimental techniques -Fuel cells and electrolysers -Electrocatalysis and key reactions in fuel cell science -
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the module students should be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge of the key areas of the module, especially thermodynamics and kinetics of fuel cell electrochemical systems.
Analyse a set of data for the key limiting factors affecting the results
Make appropriate calculations, and propose suitable further experimental investigations
Communicate information, concepts, problems and solutions to specialists and non-specialists.
